About

I am a blue-eyed, Caucasian man who is physically in his early sixties but who, at times, still feels like a teenager in his mind. Politically I would be considered extremely liberal by most people. Though I am heterosexual, I am pro-LGBTQIA+. I am pro-choice, and believe that the males of our species have no rights or business telling a woman what she can or cannot do with her body. I believe that education and the arts are worthy causes that should be supported and encouraged. I am anti-bullying and am angered by social injustice. I believe that organized religions are the bane of mankind, and need to be abolished before mankind can ever make any real progress or have any real meaning. I do not believe that we are alone in the universe, but any others who might be “out there” are not any supernatural beings (i.e. “gods”), they are planet-dwellers who evolved on their planets in a manner similar to earthlings (and, most assuredly, they do not look like us). The universe is simply too big for one little speck of dust in the Milky Way Galaxy to be the only source of sentient life. I am currently the only human living in a house run by three cats, all adopted from the County animal shelter. I was born and raised in Northern California, but I’ve lived in several other parts of the Country as well, and may speak to that later in my writings. Though I am American by birth, I’m not one who believes that “America is the greatest country,” especially after the general election of 2024. I consider myself to be more a citizen of Earth, and feel a kindred spirit with some other cultures as well. Sure, I enjoy some of the freedoms afforded to me by being a natural citizen here, but there are MANY other countries I would happily live in as well if given the chance (most of them because of their history or natural features). Maybe a future blog will focus more on how I feel about where I live and where I would choose to live if I had the opportunity to move abroad.

I have developed a multitude of interests throughout my lifetime, and have read about many other subjects (that I wouldn’t necessarily consider to be “interests”) as well. With my background and variety of interests, I have myriad topics to pull from to keep things interesting when it comes time to write a blog. Hopefully I can keep the interest of at least a few readers. I have opinions about quite a few things, and will usually not hesitate to share my opinion if asked. Personally… I am, and have always been, an introvert (the last test I took reported me as being INFP). I prefer to stay at home and do something by myself, rather than going out for the sake of socializing. I even prefer working from home, given the opportunity (I currently do it two days per week). If I do “go out” it is to enjoy one of my outdoor hobbies, usually by myself. If I had some female companionship, that would probably change. With my personality type, I have not developed a lot of casual friendships throughout my life. I do have a professional career that keeps me busy during the week, and I own a home with a yard, both requiring maintenance. Consequently, I may not be at the computer for the express purpose of writing blog pages as often as I’d like, but I will attempt to keep things going on a regular basis, especially if I start to receive comments on blogs and feel that I should respond. Namaste
